Requirements

As a Principal Machine Learning Engineer, you will define and drive the technical and architectural direction for large-scale AI/ML initiatives across a portfolio of products. You will lead enterprise-level system designs, contribute to strategic roadmaps, and influence key technical decisions that shape the future of AI/ML.This role requires a technical visionary with expertise in machine learning, deep learning, MLOps, and distributed AI systems. You will be responsible for building cutting-edge AI solutions while mentoring and approving the work of Engineers and Senior Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Innovation

• Own and drive the technical and architectural direction for AI/ML products and solutions at an enterprise level.
  
• Contribute to AI/ML roadmaps, project planning, and technical strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  
• Identify, assess, and integrate emerging AI technologies, fostering a culture of innovation and calculated risk-taking.
  
• Shape and standardize ML engineering best practices, influencing technical priorities across the company.
  

Machine Learning Engineering & Development

• Develop, optimize, and deploy scalable machine learning models for large-scale applications.
  
• Lead the design of ML pipelines, real-time inference systems, and data engineering workflows.
  
• Ensure high-performance and cost-efficient AI/ML solutions, leveraging advanced optimization techniques.
  
• Master at least one primary programming language (Python, Java, C++, or similar) and proficient in multiple others.
  
• Write high-quality, scalable, and reusable ML code that serves as a reference globally and for training purposes.
  

Architecture & System Design

• Design and oversee complex, enterprise-wide AI/ML architectures, including distributed computing and cloud-based AI solutions.
  
• Define and enforce AI model governance, security, and compliance standards across teams.
  
• Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimizing AI pipelines and infrastructure.
  
• Lead cross-team technical discussions, ensuring system-wide consistency and scalability.
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership

• Represent the company globally, collaborating with external AI research communities, clients, and industry leaders.
  
• Lead technical discussions and decision-making processes across teams, fostering collaboration and consensus.
  
• Mentor and approve the work of Engineers and Senior Engineers, shaping AI/ML engineering excellence.
  
• Encourage a customer-centric culture, aligning AI solutions with market trends and business goals.
  

Business & Financial Strategy

• Optimize engineering budgets to balance innovation, cost-efficiency, and financial stability.
  
• Analyze market trends, competition, and customer needs to ensure AI/ML solutions remain cutting-edge.
  

Qualifications & Skills

• 10-14 years of experience in Machine Learning, AI, or Software Engineering.
  
• Expertise in deep learning, reinforcement learning, generative AI, and statistical modeling.
  
• Proficiency in ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc.).
  
• Strong experience with cloud AI platforms (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP Vertex AI).
  
• Expertise in MLOps, CI/CD for ML, and data engineering pipelines.
  
• Experience with big data and distributed computing (Spark, Kubernetes, Ray, etc.).
  
• Deep knowledge of system design, architecture patterns, and enterprise AI strategy.
  
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving complex AI/ML challenges.
  
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience influencing senior stakeholders.
